What is being done and why?

Monthly Generator Test for the month of September 2024 has been rescheduled from Sep 3 (Tuesday) to Sep 6 (Friday).

Brief electrical shutdowns are scheduled so that monthly testing can be done on life safety generators. To learn more about why F&S does monthly generator tests, visit our emergency generator resource page.

How will it impact building occupants?

  • All receptacles, lighting and equipment that are connected to emergency power will be shut down twice for up to 15 seconds each time.
  • The first outage is estimated to take place at 7 AM. The second outage is estimated to take place between 8 AM and 8:30 AM.
  • Receptacles, lighting and equipment that are connected to normal power will not be affected.
